Chelation

The process of removing heavy metals from the body is called "chelation". Chelation is achived by the use of special medicines called "chelators". These medicines have the ability to "grab on" to metals in our bodies and pull them out when we eliminate.

There are several different medicines that chelate metals. Some of these medicines are taken orally (pills), some are available in several different forms (pills, IV or suppository) and some are only available in IV form. Each has an affinity for a particular combination of metals, so which chelator is used depends on the metals present.

Chelation tends to be a lengthy process. If IV chelation is indicated, treatments are several times per week in the office, and often last a couple of hours. No matter what chelating medicine is used, other cleansing methods are ALWAYS used as well to protect the body from damage when the metals are coming out of the body.

I am certified in EDTA chelation, and have recieved extensive training in all forms of chelation and cleansing.
